Is Lelouch is dead or alive!? Looks like we are going to find out…according to a graphic on the mobile phone site for Code Geass, a new Geass project has been green-lit. Astute observers will note that this announcement coincides with Lelouch’s birthday. There’s no word yet either whether it’ll be an OVA or full series or what, but apparently there’ll be more news in the new year. [source: Random Curiosity]

what it was. But it had the perfect ending as Sam said above. If they make new series they might ruin that. But saying that, perfect ending or not, it makes no difference in a commercial environment. Making most money out of it is the perfect thing for the produces I suppose.

Code Geass had one of the best stories out of all the anime I’ve watched so I don’t see how you can ruin it. R1 and R2 had a combined 50 episodes so you can’t compare to the dragonball series witch is fill with fillers. This just has one deep story to follow and not deviate from.

Well it is possible that they ruin it. It is also highly likely for them to do it. Since the story had a good ending, unless something new happens that would change the world order and then L has to re-appear to save the day again, then i dont see how it is gonna make a good come back.
We saw how in Dragon Ball, they could come back from the death once with the Dragon Balls, but then if they got super balls they can come back again and again…. it was at a point that got seriously stupid. So, I am afraid they gonna ruin it.
And for the best anime ever in my opinion it is Roruni Kenshin (aka Samurai X) it has always been and always will be.

I wouldn’t mind a new cast of characters or a alternate setting type of deal but to me they shouldn’t pile more stuff on the first one.
a prequel to see some of C.C’S other partners. Since she lived for a couple hundred years they can go far back as they like.

I hope this comes to fruition, although I am 30% sure it won’t, which would be a great shame. It ended well enough, and was a decisive ending with 1 exception: is lelouch alive. on this matter i am 67% sure he isnt and that this will be more about suzaku(new zero). World peace seemed to be established so there seems to be little need for r3, but who knows what lurks in the shadows, another force to threaten the peace? the return of charles. I look forwaard to hearing more and hope that there is in fact an r3 that lives up to the previous 2 seasons

@F I don’t agree with you.. If you look up various forums where they discuss the matter you will realize that there is some hints in the story leading to Lelouch being alive.. I’m convinced after hearing those statements that he is alive

ed back and forward too much but it does make sense. :] just with those sections is enough to make anyone belive it.
Obvious factors though are:
The ending itself: cloaked driver, personally speaking C.C. using Lelu name, but most importantly (in my opinion) the usage of medical technology at that time and the contract that lelu with C.C.
AND if u look closely in the death of Lelu, you will notice a small chain-reaction among the characters; just see the ending, youll know wut im talking about. :]

Yes, I also have watched seasons 1 and 2 in a short amount of time. Because the ending fits the show so well, I do not think that there will be another season. I do however believe that Lelouch is alive. I’m sure if they actually made a 3rd season, they would do it tastefully. That however is pretty unlikely

Though the ending of episode 25 was perfect, I really wish there was more to it. I dont know what they could possibly add to the ending though because its perfect.

@nightstar, the difference between when C.C was shot and Lelouch was stabbed is that C.C has accended to the level where she could give out geass powers, she no longer had her own geass. Lelouch may have gotten to the stage that his power was maxed out(speculation but probable), he hadnt however(to our knowledge) accended to take C.C’s place.
As good as this anime is, bringing out an R3 with Lelouch alive is pointless. The ending left it without a doubt that Lelouch and Suzaku had succeeded in their plan. Lelouch
d his death for two reasons. 1) With all the worlds hatred aimed at him, it gave them a reason to band together, something he had worked hard to achieve. and 2) because he didnt wish to carry the burdons of the sins he had committed to achieve his goal.

Also,(sorry forgot to add this part and it wont let me edit) any further additions to the current story arc would ruin what R2 stood for if it brings Lelouch back, however any Code Geass without him isnt going to be worth watching.
The only way i can see this working is if they retell R1&2 from Suzaku’s point of view. Give us a bit more insight into his time with the Knights of the Round and follow his thought patterns a bit closer. Just like they did with Lelouch in the originals

To be honest Lulu has only one way of still being alive, which is through C2. (spoilers!?!? ahead for those who haven’t finished the series) As many of us know C2 and V2 where immortal through the “gift” of their code and connections to Ragnarök. This here is where Lulu could survive by accepting C2′s code. Now i dont know how many people caught onto this hint which was given about 3 or 4 episode before the end of the second season. (the episodes where the emperor took V2′s code and was going to kill C2) Well if you get basic psychology of the characters you can tell that C2′s true wish is not to
, despite her saying that. Her true wish was to be fully 
by someone for her being who she was despite her past, upbringing, class, etc. after Lulu finds out about her old life, before C2 even had her Geass powers or her code through the events of her loosing her memories and C2′s story of her Geass ability before receiving the code it clearly shows that her wish in life was to be 
and accepted by someone she would consider “close”. Now back to the last episodes of R2. Lulu’s relationship with C2 in his “final”, use this word since we wont know till R3, months must have grown due to the fact that Lulu only had C2 for support and closure since Suzaku was only in it for the Zero Requiem. So what if Lulu was able by the end of the series, after all that he and C2 had been through been able to grant C2′s true wish and was able to be granted the code making him Immortal. If this is true Lulu would not longer have his Geass but would have to now find a successor and live his life in solitude for penance for the horrible things that he did.

When season 3 of geass comes out I think they should have lulu still alive, when he was in the god realm before his father disappeared he grabbed lulu with the hand that had the code for imortality. his father took the code from v.v. and lulu got geass in both eyes now. so he could have been immortal. left to live with the sins of what he did to get peace as his punishment

R3 would be awsome. After all, suzaku cannot live forever (nor would he want to). What would happen after the current ZERO
s or can no longer fulfill the station?
There will always be someone wanting to pervert the peace into a dictatorship. LuLu may have to take over the spot of ZERO or totaly revamp things within certain areas of the budding one world gvt.
Freedom Dosen’t Come Free afterall. If LuLu is alive (wich is hinted at), then you will have ZORO ooops ZERO when he is needed for all time!

I hope there is a R3, but remember, Nunally is still alive, she could always give birth to a child and name it lelouch, and maybe by some odd turn of fate he receives the geass from the same on the original lelouch (Zero), and tried to fix the world from another

okay, I want everyone who claims the ending was perfect to just step back into the past with me. When lulu killed his dad, he naturally absorbed his father’s CC Code. Evidence of this is shown when nunalie see’s his past memories when coming in contact with his skin. The death blow being dealt by the best friend, killing lulu (not really) activated the code. the author intended for the last scene to show lulu smiling, but was offered a better job at gundam, and quickly cut lulu out of the series. Trust me, peace has not yet been achieved.

First off it realy doesn’t matter weather or not you think if lulu is alive or not i have
all comments above and both arguments seem pretty good for the most part, however more support would favor lulu being alive. It kinda occurred to me that the last time he used his Geass power was on his brother Prince shnizel (sorry for spelling if its wrong). you realy don’t know weather or not he did recieve the code from charles or not or weather it activated but i think he is alive it just all adds up. besides that, the world nowadays is focused on money and is corrupted so they probably wanted to make a cliffhanger at the end so they can see weather or not they should make a r3 at all. im not that big on anime i like i few but this will always be my fave and inspired me to look into anime a little bit more

think about it C2, whos named we never found it….. which is weird… who does that in an anime, and at one point in R2 C2 said ( how long are you going to hide in there ) when she was alone in the room with just her stuffed animal whom she also had in the last credits…… so my guess is theres somthing going on there.

ok so if you were watching the death of lulus father and mother than you should know that lulu did NOT kill his father and mother but GOD did and then they were gone for good(if you don’t know this then here :lulu used his geass on GOD to kinda banish them/kill them) so there for lulu could not have taken their codes but the way the other eye turned is a ? i have and can’t be answered until r3. so lulu could still be alive but i kinda think he’s dead (even though i want him to be alive)and by the way r3 will not be about lulu ( i have not seen it though but theres no way it can be when the writer wrote about a time before lulu was born (by the way the writer wrote it will be not about lulu) . i can’t wait to watch r3 so tell me when its on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they make a ova then they should make it waltz style.
one bad guy comes back or something and Lulu has to come back or he finally gets recognized for the good he did by being bad. If it’s gonna be a series then they should have him come back. He is the reason I continued to watch the series. There are many ways that they could continue the series. Like what everyone else has said though, they can royally mess up the series. They have to tread carefully so that’s why it’s taking so long.

remember the time cc touched the lancelot and showed his past to him then lulu touched cc and saw her past. then in the ending when nunully touched lulu she saw his past so it could only mean that lulu had a code ( i dont know wether its v2s or c2s)
